Toowoomba Youth Service

The Toowoomba Youth Service provides support services for young people and parents. Emergency relief is available for young people aged 14 to 17.

The Toowoomba and District Youth Service was established in 1982 and incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (1981) in 1986.

Our vision is for all young people to lead meaningful lives and participate as valued members of their community.

The Toowoomba Youth Service believes the following values are paramount in the delivery of our projects and activities.

- Justice: we will exercise and advocate for fairness in all areas of our work, especially in the way people are treated and decisions are made

- Equality: we will provide responsive and readily available services to all clients

- Respect: we will maintain proactive and respectful relationships with clients and other service providers

- Honesty: we will be transparent and authentic in all our work with clients and be openly accountable to our funding partners and sponsors

- Commitment: we will provide and develop specific services to meet client needs to enable them to re-integrate into the broader community

Emergency Relief (ER) is available for young people aged 14 to 17 years. ER may be in the form of a food pack, hygiene pack and/or food voucher. Other forms of assistance may be available based upon individual needs.

If requiring a food voucher, please remember an appointment is necessary to allocate a worker and to activate the vouchers.

Statistical data is gathered to ensure ongoing funding from FAHCSIA is provided for the youth of Toowoomba. No identifying information is included in the information we report.

Please note: Food vouchers are available only every 3 months AND only one young person per household can claim under emergency circumstances. So we can monitor this, we will ask for personal details such as your name, date of birth, and details of the people in your household. This information does not get released to anyone. We may also ask you other questions relevant to your situation to find out if there is anything else we can do to support you.

Appointments are available on most days of the week and can all be made by phoning the office on 4639 1333.
